(sims 4) why wont my new roommate move in?

@preshbillie  Since you said they said yes, did you get the wall pop up?  Sometimes that get's delayed a few minutes. 

Depending the on the traits the game gives roommates, that could be why you're not seeing them.  Once of the traits is Absent.  And those sims just aren't around very much and you hardly see them.  Mostly they go out and come back to sleep then go out again. 

@CGrant56 hello, im not quite sure what you mean by ‘the wall pop up’ but there was a message pop up that said they said yes and they would move in soon. however i waited a few sim days but they never moved in as i couldnt even assign them a bed. also, this is a sim i made myself and not a randomly generated sim

@preshbillieYes, that is what I meant so you did get the popup where they said yes.

And if you can't assign a bed, then they didn't move in.  Now, you say this was a sim you made.  From that comment, I assume you are saying that the potential roommate is a sim you made.  Correct?  Was that sim already in a house somewhere or was he/she a not in world sim?

Sims who already have a home can't become roommates  They must be a not in world sim.  If they are in a home somewhere, then you shouldn't have gotten the acceptance popup.  You should have gotten one that says no.  So I suspect that the roommate was not in world.

Something has obviously gone wrong.  But now it's down to what exactly.  

Can you see the sim in your relationship panel?  If so, do they have the roommate title?  

Have you checked to see if a Last Exception was generated?

And have you had any lot load issues with the lot where the sim was supposed to move in, either on game load or when traveling after you asked the sim to be a roommate?  I have had both when a roommate was involved before.  And the way I had to fix it was to delete the roommate sim which I really didn't want to do but had to since I could find no other way.  But if you are not having any other problems with the game then something else may be going on

@CGrant56 yes, they are not in world. no they dont have the roommate title and i have had no problems with lot loading and i didnt have a last exception pop up or any loading issues. i have tried asking another sim i made to be my roommate and it worked fine, it seems to be just a certain sim? i deleted them and then put them back in and tried again but it still didnt work
