Sims' bladder, hunger and energy needs decaying too quickly.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.54.120.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? None
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create a family with a single female Sim and have her have a baby. Problem seemed to start after getting pregnant a second and third time.
What happens when the bug occurs? Bladder, hunger and energy needs decay very quickly for all Sims in the household.
What do you expect to see? All Sims needing to eat and sleep very soon after the last time they did so.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Most recent patch from Maxis installed on the 9th August.

I started a new game last week for a 100 baby challenge and ever since I installed the update a few days ago, all the Sims in the household have had their bladder, hunger and energy needs decay way more quickly than they should do to the extent that the game is unpleasant to play because my Sims are exhausted and hungry every few hours so I can't get anything done. My toddlers will be awake and starving whilst their mother is exhausted so she's not awake to make food for them. I'm now in a vicious circle of my Sims waking up with low needs and only getting a few things done with them before they need to go back to sleep. My toddlers also seem to be taking longer and longer to level up skills.

I have another game with a household with two adults in and needs are working normally in that one, so it seems to be a problems with this save game specifically.

Any help people can give would be really good.

  • Would you be willing to share your save with me ? If so, please zip your saves folder and upload it somewhere like dropbox,, googledrive or OneDrive and PM me the link.

  • Thanks crinrict. I've PM'd you a link to the save on my OneDrive (hopefully it works, I've never used the share function before).

@lemonshred I didn't test your save for very long (RL is calling) but while it's exhausting with 3 toddlers and a baby and the mother never gets enough sleep, I don't feel decay is faster than what I'm used to. There's always something ..

Can you, just for testing, try to play with just one toddler and see if it also feels the same way ? Just create a copy of your save and test on that.
