There might be something else going on so a few questions: Does this happen in all of your households or a specific one ? Do you have any dishes on half-walls or shelves ? Do you have any ladders in your home ? What exactly happens when you try to drag ?

Sims not washing dishes or throwing out trash

They pick the item up, then put it bag down again, usually with a trash can thought bubble. What I’ve tried so far:
