Sims stuck in idle animations

I recently downloaded new cc and all of the sudden my sims are permanently stuck in their idle animations and standing still. I tried deleting the new cc, turned off cc entirely, re installed the game, tried multiple households, nothing has worked. They wont take on new interactions, they wont move anywhere if I ask them to, they just stand in their idle animations. Pets as well.

There's another post with a similar problem from four months ago but op hasn't posted lately and i just figured i'd make a fresh one to try to boost the issue. This has been an ongoing issue ive had for a couple months now myself and I keep craving sims gameplay but i cant do anything if all they do is stand still!😭
