simulation lag

i’ve had a problem now where if i speed up to speed 2 or 3 my game freezes for a bit. and my sims dont do anything. i can move around in the world like with the mouse but i can’t change the speed. it usually happens on speed 2 or 3 but i can’t not use speed 2 or 3. i tried the simulation lag fix mod and also the simulation unclogger mod but it barely made a difference. this happened recently and i’ve never had any issues before this. im just not sure if it’s a mod causing it or what. i deleted my sims 4 folder so it’ll generate a new one but it also didn’t do anything and if it is a mod i have no idea what mod could be causing it. i did delete a few that for me weren’t necessary so im gonna test the game now and see if they did anything.
