Teen needs to shape up at school

My teen is a straight A student for over two in-game weeks now, maxed out in 3 skills and has 4 other skills at level 6 or above.

Every day when he comes home from school I get a notification that he better shape up or he will get expelled, and he's not doing anything wrong, he's working hard.

He also keeps having to do "makeup homework" in addition to "extra credit".

And the option to graduate early is greyed out. What is happening?

One thing you didn't say was if you tried using the graduate early option on Mei when you had the teen talk to her.  Did you try that?

For what you said though, I agree with you.  The teen is probably glitched somehow.  I can think of a couple of things that might clear it.  Neither of which is guaranteed to work though.  And both should be done in a test save to see if these will work first before trying it in your main save.

1 - You can try making the teen a child again using the CAS cheat.  After you exit CAS, then take the household back to CAS and age him up again.

2 - You can try saving the household to your library then deleting the original and then loading the copy back into the save from your library.

3 - You can do this with the just the teen too by deleting the other household members, saving the teen to your library.  Once you have the teen in the library, exit the save without saving and reload.  Then take the household to CAS, delete the teen and add him back from the library.  You'll need to activate the CAS cheat before you do that so you can reset the family relationships.

If you're playing on a PC or Mac and use Mods, you can accomplish deaging and setting relationships with MCCC.  You'll still need to go to CAS to delete the sims and add them back.  If you're playing on a console, activating the CAS cheat will probably disable achievements.  So, only option 2 will get it done without disabling achievements.

Or if you don't want to do all that, you could simply age the teen up to YA with a birthday cake.

    Hope this helps.

Do you have the High School Years pack?  And if you do, do you travel to school with the teen or just send him alone?  Since you can see the graduate early option, I assume you do have HSY.  So, I suggest you travel with the teen for a few days and complete all the tasks that you can while there at the high school.  And try to make friends with Mei Prescott, the principal.  Then start sending them alone again to see if that helps things.

Another thing you can do make sure you finish the homework each night and do some extra credit if you get the chance.  If you have Parenthood, do the Monday night projects too (only get those if you send the teen to school alone).

    Hope this helps.

  • @CGrant56 Thanks for your reply. I have already done all that. I followed my teen to school, made sure he did all his homework and extra credit. For some reason one day these pop-ups started so I made him go alone to see if it changes anything. It didn't. He was sent home with an expulsion warning every day - for no reason. So I followed him to school again for a couple of weeks to make sure he aces his tests - he did.
I made him do all his homework, plus extra credit and makeup homework every day. Plus a couple of extra projects. He constantly had an A with a check mark. I think it's just a weird bug.

  • @CGrant56 Thanks again. The game basically solved my problem by expelling my teen from school. So, I downloaded Basemental mods and went in a different direction with his story, lol.
Thanks again for your help. I will accept your solution 🙂
