@RavenLure Don't worry. You keep buying all these packs and you'll soon start to see just how buggy this game can be. Then again you don't need packs at all because even the base game is filled with problems, with some problems that have been around at least a year or more. Whatever you do, please do not just sit back and accept these issues like so many players do. The reason this game is so problematic is because too many people just completely ignore the problems, simply don't care about them, or they just accept them. If something isn't working properly and we all do nothing but sit in silence and accept it, then nothing is going to be fixed.
Too many people just blindly go along with what EA does, which to me is just as much of a problem as EA's shoddy programming because if we don't speak up then we're telling them we're okay with it which just continues the cycle. We can't all act like selfish and entitled morons in the process though, but we have to speak up and let them know we aren't okay with this.
I come to the Sims4 to forget about lifes problems and have fun and build. It is no fun when things do not work. So when I get frustrated in the sims I go kill monsters in another game then come back to the sims LOLOL
I think we all have enough life problems and we need an escape and no not joinery to batou lol the one pack I refuse to get. LOL Have nearly all the rest though.. I am reluctantly looking forward to this up coming pack. The list grows longer as each pack is released. I do hope when and if a Sims 5 is released , that they take notes and do not make the same mistakes there.
I love the sims but when you are troubleshooting more than playing it takes the enjoyment out.
Maybe I I should get my Vodoo doll out I got from the Hijinks festival maybe that will help lolol Now who do I poke with it LOLOL

@RavenLure I see workarounds as a lazy solution, and an unnecessary one. As the players, we shouldn't have to do all these things just to get the game somewhat working. I mean what's the fun in playing if you have to either take certain steps to make something work properly, or tip toe around certain things so you don't have to deal with them? Like you said, it can take the fun out of it.
It's the same for me. I play to try and escape my reality because the one I've made for myself isn't good, but in these Sims games I can sort of live out something I'd like. Lately I alternate between Sims 4 and GTA 5. I got back into the online mode of GTA 5 once it hit Game Pass, so yeah I use that to let out some frustrations lol.
If I were you and you are interested in the upcoming pack, wait a while first. Yeah you might not get to play it right away, but honestly if it ends up being just another mess near release it would be better to wait until it's in a more playable state. I never buy games day 1 anymore, and especially never at full price because while a lot of people like to...ehhh.... I need a nice family friendly word here lol.... trash (?) EA there are so many companies just as bad if not worse. I don't even want to think of a Sims 5, because I've played since the original and they all seem to get worse (in terms of problems) with each new game.
If you want to torment some sims, go watch some Call Me Kevin on YouTube and you can get some ideas on what you could do lol.

I agree. When you end up fighting the bugs more than playing, it's not fun any more.
It's like this... I have two married sims. I'm just trying to get them ready in the morning before work. It should be simple... weed, harvest sell-all, toilet, shower, breakfast.I send one into the bathroom to do her stuff. I send her spouse outside to garden.
The one outside starts to weed and half the plants turn into dirt piles, losing all the harvestables. Since this was a glitch, and I need the money, should I cheat and just give myself the money? While I'm debating this... I get an LE.The one inside is stuck getting out of bed. I watch her for a moment and she's stuck mid-animation, legs clipping through the bed. Geez, I'm gonna have to reset her... I wonder if I can get away with just resetting her? Or am I likely going to have to move the entire bed again...
Right then, some random townie comes up and walks STRAIGHT THROUGH THE BUILDING, completely ignoring furniture, walls, to get to the front door before knocking.
Meanwhile, I'm using cheat commands to reset all my plants back to blossoming so they won't take another WEEK before they spawn again, next I have to move to her wife so I can reset her so she won't be late for work... A quick look at the LastException: "Posture" error. Nothing I can do about that. Sims glitch. I still have to deal with the missing money from the harvestables that simply vanished from the glitched gardening... The random townie is content to just walk through all my walls like the building wasn't even there...
How is this supposed to be fun?- 5 years ago
Well golly gee, that sounds like loads of fun. The definitive way to play Sims 4!!! I'm going to rush out right now and buy more packs so I can experience this amazing gameplay you describe!!
Sorry, had a mental breakdown there for a moment...
The fact that dirt glitch still exists is quite pathetic, then when you factor in that new one where it seems you have to travel at times for your plants to function properly... and gardening isn't worth it. I got lucky and managed to grow 9 dragon fruit plants for one sim, but after a while I just gave up because I knew at any moment they could revert to dirt or just die because of that other glitch. I also had my plants just not produce anything, so yeah gardening is experiencing some problems... to put it politely lol.
The problem that annoys me most, and has been an issue for quite a while now, is the one where certain parents have to introduce themselves to their toddlers after they age up. If an affected parent goes to age up a toddle, they will be stuck holding them unless you use various methods of getting the toddler free. I shouldn't have to go into build mode and place an object on my sims every time they have a baby age to a toddler. People are blaming it on traits, does that mean we need to avoid giving certain traits or completing certain aspirations?
People can use all the excuses they want for why these problems exist, and why they haven't been fixed, but there are no excuses. People are too forgiving and accepting of glitches in gaming, and if the players don't care then neither will the developers. Too many people are willing to use workarounds or other ways to get around these things instead of wanting them fixed. It's like the game Skyrim. Loads of bugs, many potentially game breaking, and the game has been ported multiple times in that exact state but no one seems to care and they praise it for how great it is...
Oh and by the way, just because these developers can fix their games later doesn't mean they should release them in these broken states. If you truly care about your work and your product, you will want it to be the best it can be on release... not some buggy mess. Yeah I realize I made some typing mistakes... don't worry I'll release a patch later...
