Shanteal14 You can provide a dxdiag if you'd like, and I'll look it over. But if the game works outside this one save, the issue is probably the save itself, not anything system-related.
Just to make sure, please try a few different unplayed households in that save. If you can load one, you might be able to fix the save.
If that doesn't work, see whether you can save the households and builds and then place them in a new save. (Quit and restart before loading the new save.) This wouldn't be ideal, but at least you wouldn't lose all your progress, and mods can reestablish family connections outside the household.
