Thick girl got skinny, why?

I made a new sim that was a young adult female with a thick waist and thighs which I thought was very cute. Sadly, she exercised so much that she lost all the weight and got "toned." Now she looks like a completely different sim. If I wanted a toned sim I would've made one. I just think it's sad that this game would do such a thing - once again portraying that only thin girls are the way to be.

  • I have to agree - the first sim I made in my playsave, while not very good in CAS (still am not) was so pretty to me, all round  and luscious. But I gave them the career of broker, and they ate a lot of fruitcake, that horrid thing (kidding, I love it myself), and I tried to combat it with exercise, but they just lost the spark and got all toned, just like every other sim that goes to the gym.

    I do think it is cute with a dynamic feature like that, having the sims gain and loose weight through gameplay; I just wish it was a little reworked. For instance, I find gyms uninteresting, so I would wish them to loose weight through other means, playing chess, programming, dancing, woohooing; and the amount they gain in weight just for having a couple of fat meals is remarkable, and perhaps a little excessive.

    So you created a Sim that you wanted not to slim down but when you saw your Sim start to workout a lot you did not remove the workout equipment. And you probably didn't give her the lazy and glutton traits. You shouldn't have given her the Active trait instead?

    So to sum it up the game did not do this to you, you just made some poor choices. If you correct the game in the way I described you should soon see your Sim gaining weight.

    You do know that it was all that exercise you made them do that caused them to get toned right?

    Both chess and programming is rather the opposite of working out so would tend them to gain weight instead of losing weight. Dancing will tend to give a weight loss. Woohoing could but you would have to do it like 10 times a day and that is not very realistic. Eating more calories than you burn will indeed lead to weight gain.

    @jpkarlsen Hello!
    Yes. I meant for my sim to regain the shape and form I had given them in CAS, changed with the weight gain; but that did not happen. I made them gain weight again, but I can't see it in them again, they lost the attraction appeal (to me).

    OK. I mean, you had the sim work out, a lot according to your post. This seems like a self fulfilling prophecy right here. If you do not want your sims to get thin, don't have them engage in activities designed to make them thin, then blame the game for the outcome. It's like drinking the slimify serum from get to work and complaining it made your sim slim.
  • Most of my sims that I don't play while I'm playing others (I'm a rotational player) seem to get fat if I'm not playing them unless they have the "Active" trait then they will somewhat retain most of their muscle. At least in my game most of my non played sims seem to enjoy eating more than working out! Especially since I have a diner in the world now!

    The way I understand the OP is that exercising in the game, that is part of the gameplay and so can be done for different reasons and gain; also has the effect of drastically, and quickly, changing the looks of the sims, not always desired by the player, or understood to be the result.

  • Actually, she's a mermaid so every time she swims she works out. I didn't have any workout equipment, neither did I give her the Active trait.

    I'll keep the lazy and glutton trait in mind for the next one. Maybe this time I won't make a mermaid either.

    Thanks for your help on this.

    As I stated above, she's a mermaid so every time she swam she worked out. I had no exercise equipment, I also had no idea that swimming as a mermaid would make her lose weight.
