Tiny Living Talk

I'm posting this to discuss various aspects of the Tiny Living Stuff Pack.  Mostly I wanted to answer some questions on another thread without getting of topic on that thread. 😇

@CGrant56Yes, I am enjoying Tiny Living! 🙌 I don't build much, but by encouraging us and challenging us to make small builds , I find that I don't get overwhelmed so much as I have with larger houses! I do wish they had included ladders (I want bunk beds too, but I think those should have come in Parenthood GP or Kids Room SP. )  But murphy beds are truly only space saving when they include the attached loveseat, so I doubt I will bother much with the ones that don't have the love seat attached.

I have had several non-fatal accidents with the Murphy Bed so far, and no deaths.  @SheriGR had a death the first time and her bed wasn't even broken.  Same goes for the YouTuber James Turner (an EA Game Changer formerly known as Sims Supply), but Lilsimsie (another You Tuber / EA Game Changer) had a hard time killing her Sim with the bed.

What I've noticed so far is that all accidents (fatal and non-fatal) are very much likely to happen if you don't upgrade your bed.  The first upgrade at Handiness skill level 3 makes the bed less likely to break.  It also greatly reduced the amounts of non-fatal accidents! 🤨😎  The second upgrade is at Handiness level 8 and I have not had one non-fatal accident since then! 🙌  I've been playing for 2 Sim weeks and so far so good!  My guess is that while it is still possible to die from a murphy bed that isn't broken, upgrading the bed to unbreakable will make death a rare thing, kind of like the chances of getting hit by a meteor in TS3! 😉😃

The style of this pack is from the Scandinavian Hygge style and  Mid-Century Modern ,  and fits in very well with the Bowling Stuff Pack and some of the items in the Get Famous EP! 😎

  • @PugLove888 I'm up to my eyeballs in a 32 tile 'safe-build' (no Murphy Bed for those that don't want to deal with the risk but want the micro home benefits). Oh my goodness! It's all about:
    every...
    single...
    tile.
And I'm making it a starter home budget. My target budget is $18500. Double bed - for 1-2 sims plus an (optional) cat. Not using any Cats & Dogs stuff for building or furniture. Using only 2 packs otherwise. Seasons & Tiny Living.

This is a pretty cool challenge, actually. 🙌

Oh, and in my game I hadn't studied up on the Murphy Bed when I installed it and entered the game. <Oops!!> I had not had a single one of my sims die in Sims 4. Until this week. Within 1-2 minutes of entering the lot with the Maxis home that pops up.

I knew the beds break, but I though 'Hey, I'll just fix it after it breaks and do the upgrades'. Ya... no. My sim (actually, @PugLove888 's sim in my game), walked straight for the bed and opened it up.

    Spoiler
Hey, what's that black smoke in the yard! I pause my game and panned back...

I left without saving. I would have paid money to see my face, though. I was so worked up I went and ranted to other helpers and so they had to suffer too. 🙌

@SheriGR, how can you have an "optional cat" if you aren't' using any items from the Cats & Dogs EP?🤔

@PugLove888 Lol! I was trying to find a short way of saying that I used the pack so it's prepped for adding a cat, but nothing essential is used form that pack if they don'e want to add a cat. Originally I was adding the litter box in a way that used the pet door so that was more relevant, but not now. However, the cat-dish and a couple of toys are moo-placed (and usable) where they wouldn't fit otherwise, so it is slightly helpful. But only a few toys, a food dish, and the litter box, and if those are stripped on placement without the pack it should make no design difference.
