TS4 game stuck at loading screen

I have The Sims 4. but everytime I try to edit my household, in the place where you find the Neighbour Stories, in Manage Worlds , the loading screen just doesn't stop loading. What do I do? (I'm sorry for my English)

  • Hi everyone,

I’m having some issues with my game since the last September update for the Grim Reaper Event. I keep encountering infinite loading screens, whether I’m trying to access public lots or homes with played Sims.
In some cases, I can even hear the familiar sound that plays when a household lot finishes loading, but the screen never actually goes away.

With one household, I managed to move them to a different lot, but I lost their house and all their belongings in the process.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the lots in San Myshuno, I can’t transfer any lots from the main menu, which means I can’t load any of them.

I’ve been using both mods and custom content, and I’ve done a 50/50 test to troubleshoot. I also reached out for support from the MCCC modders on Discord, but the problem still persists.
I’ve never encountered this many issues before, and I’m at a bit of a loss for what to do next...

Thanks in advance for any help!

@FedePeters I have this problem too, except I'm not using any custom content or mods. Otherwise I play on PC.

  • Uninstalled game. Re-installed it. New save. I load in, everything is fine for a while. I travel with the sim out of their home. I go back home, never ending loading screen appears. New save. I close the game and attempt to resume - never ending loading screen. This occurred two days ago, a week after I installed the interiror designer pack. I have NO MODS. stop askig me if i have mods.

Does anyone have any idea what has caused this issue? Sims4 had been fine on my PC for a year.

  • After week 3 of the Grimm event, I have not been able to load in the game I made specifically for this event and to use with the Life and Death game pack.

I started my character in Forgotten Hallow and everything was going fine for weeks 1 and 2.  After week 3 I moved my character to Moonwood Mills for some Witch/Werewolf story progression and if I exited that game, either as a save or to go to another World, it would take forever to load. (I once let it go for 24 hours IRL and still no loading)

I read some Reddits that suggested Moonwood Mills might be the issue, so I recovered the game and moved my Sim to Glimmerbrook. She went to prom and could not return due to neverending loading.

I am playing vanilla (all ex packs, game packs, stuff packs, and kits) in anticipation of Life and Death. I'm about to uninstall and reinstall the whole bloody mess... Please help.

MaiTheOriginal  Does this lot use the Off the Grid challenge?  If so, please remove it, which you can do by loading it in Build mode via Manage Worlds.

  • Hi,

This is the first time I'm posting here but I am having an issue where saves that have a Tiny Home Residential save that never stops loading. I'm essentially stuck on a loading screen with the music and plumpbob forever. I am inclined to think it is particularly an issue when the loading save is on a Tiny Home Residental lot, as I don't seem to have this particular issue with new saves with regular lots or older saves, from what I can tell (I can't tell which of my really old saves are on Tiny Lots so haven't checked all the saves).

I don't have mods or custom content installed. I saw some posts about forever load screens check that they aren't storing the Sims files on iCloud, which I already do not do, so neither of those particular aspects seem to have helped. I have previously also repaired the game several times without this issue being fixed, and I have also removed the localtumbcache.package as other tips adjacent to this issue have previously described. I haven't been able to see from Google whether it was a known issue, so thought I would report it here.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, I would really appreciate it.

@alienaristocrat Are you using the off-the-grid lot challenge ? That is currently broken.

    • Load your save game with load instead of resume.
    • Enter the lot in build mode and remove the lot challenge
    • The lot should load afterwards.
