Forum Discussion
Okay, I just read the point schedule. Without people helping me out by liking my comments, I will have to post 1500 comments to amass the 50 points I will need to ask the question that I need to ask in order to run my first EA game. Right?
1500 comments about games I've never run. Because I can't run them.
Is there a cow I can click on 1500 times instead?
@annagulaev, sadly, as with everything in life, a few bad people abusing the system make normal actions ridiculously difficult! 😬 It is the same reason why we need passwords, valid ID, passports, airport security checks, ID badges, security cameras, etc. in real life.😞 These measures had to be put into effect by EA because abusers made the official Sims 4 boards practically unusable.😢 No, this isn't an ideal way to run a forum, but unfortunately it had to be done to have it work at all!
I think that if you like other people's comments it also gives you points. So, you can reply to other posts, like their comments, and hopefully have someone like your comments in order to get your points up to be a regular member and be able to post an original post. 😉 If you want to know more you can learn more here:https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/16736479#Comment_16736479
Rosemow usually answers and she is extremely kind and helpful! 😇❤️
As far as I know these measures haven't been put in place here because we haven't' had those problems (or at least not to that extent!). New people post here at EA Answers HQ all the time! 🙂 In fact, the whole reason I'm here all the time at AHQ is that I couldn't ask questions on the official forums at first! I would just ask my questions here and post more conversational replies at the official forums until I was a full member. Over all I prefer this site because it is more geared to helping others. But, if I want to talk to other players about topics like speculations on the next pack (I did this a lot before Seasons came out! 😳 ), or which version of The Sims has the best toddlers, etc, I will post over there. 😃
Of course, no matter if you are an actual member or not, it is always a good idea to do a search for you question/problem/topic before starting a new thread anyway! It saves moderators the trouble of having to combine multiple threads that belong together , and makes it easier for others to find all the information on a particular topic in one place! :eahigh_file: ( I have actually seen here 3 threads started within a few spaces of each other that are about the exact same thing! 😮😞😃 )
Finally, at least you don't have the problem many of us had a few years ago when trying to become a new member … there was something wrong with how your likes, comments, and replies were calculated and it took what amounted to hundreds of points (not just 50 like it stated) in order to become a new member! 😠😢😞😮 One day the problem was instantly fixed for a great number of people. :eahigh_file: The ironic thing was that I had registered with the official forums when TS3 came out and had posted a ton of posts and had a 7 year anniversary badge but was still considered a "New Member" because the forums were didn't count my TS3 posts and likes, only the TS4 ones! 🤒😃
So, hang in there! Keep at it on the Official TS4 Forums. In the meantime ask all your questions here at EA AHQ! 😇
