Uninvited sims appearing on vacation lots

The first couple of times I sent my sim and her boyfriend (who lives on another lot) on vacation, this was not a problem.
After an update - not sure if it's related -  uninvited sims appear on the vacation lot when the screen loads for the first time. It's incredibly annoying! They eat of the food my sim prepares and sleep in the beds. I've tried clicking on them to see if I could send them home, but that wasn't an option.
Is this a known bug? I've searched the forum but not found any other posts about this issue.

    ebstokstad​  What world is your vacation rental located in?  

    In some worlds, when I load the rental lot in lime mode, a couple of extra sims will usually be there but then leave pretty quickly.  So, it is not uncommon that the sims show up.  What is odd in your case is they stay around.  Since you get no options on the extra sims, have you tried the send home option on your sim?  That is not the exact wording of the option, but you should see something similar on your sim.
