What protects sims and plants from the elements roof or ceiling plus thermostat
I've noticed in many of the premade house (for example the garlicclauter house). That in the middle area of the second floor (think above the entry way. At times it rains inside my house. This explains why before I added seasons my vampires were getting a sizzling epidermis when lingering here to talk. I redid the roof because I noticed that because of all the different shaped roofs there were parts where the roof did not conplwtely cover all areas of the house. It looked like it did, but when highlighting each individual roof in that area I noticed there were like 3 boxes that weren't covered by any green area. Hpwever I also noticed that the same area did not have a ceiling in a few squares on the highest floor...
I did both "fixes" at the same time and truly do not want to test which solved the problem because I don't want to build houses and then have to fix them later when it rains. Also some other premade gouses have the same issue. So my question is, is it the ceiling that keep the elements out or is it the roof? If it is the veiling and not the roof does this mean you have to have a opaque ceiling in a greenhouse in order to stop the elements? With a glass roof that kind of is a bummer.
So which keeps the elements out the houses ceiling or the houses roof? If it is the ceiling and the roof is totally just for our aesthetic why bother allowing the patterned glass roofs to cast a pattern on the ground (if we remove the ceiling)? It gives the impression the roof is actually keeping the elements out. Or really why bother with glass roofs? Lol since it won't allow us to grown indoors unless we completely block all light from above?
Sorry if this is worded funny it is hard to express in written form. Basically if the roofs are useless and it is the ceiling protecting the inside from the weather elements then by letting it cast the shadow further confuses people.
Oh here is an additional question... Regarding all this if it is the ceiling if we are running the a.c. or the heater and their is missing ceiling tile we are basically heating the neighborhood (as my dad used to say).
Also about greenhouses and flooring, if we remove the flooring in our greenhouse and plant directly into the dirt are we limited to the seasonal growth?
