Will I ever get the opportunity to play new expansion packs and other upgrades? Will there be a fix for this issue in the very near future or will we (legacy users) have to invest in new computers?
It's sucks but that's just how time and technology goes on. When Windows and Mac stop supporting old operating systems, most games stop supporting them too. I'm used to updates like this for MMOs so it's not a surprise to me, but I can see how it would shock people that don't play many games that have more than 2 or 3 expansions. It's just the way it is, unfortunately. Normally after about 6~10 years is when it's recommended to upgrade to a new computer, or if you use a tower you can just upgrade individual parts of your computer so it's compatible with new operating systems.
