Why are the Plant Lover Trait and Vegetarian Trait not compatible?

as a vegan and a plant lover. i just got the Enchanted by nature pack. and wanted to have plant lover and Vegetarian. however i was bummed that i couldn't do both. so i would choose the more important trait. Vegetarian, over plant lover. and still have Gardening as a hobby that i like. so technically i can enjoy both things. hope that helps too :D
