Why do my sims not go to work when I am not playing them?

I simply do not see the logic here, it must be fixed. It doesn't make any sense how you make it work this way. Allow me to elaborate on some annoying issues it causes.

1) Every time I switch households during a sim's work hours, they are late or even worse, super late, which causes performance loss.

2) The sims don't get paid for the hours they missed, so it also means salary loss.

3) They don't have the autonomy to go to work during work hours BUT they do travel to other places. It becomes even harder to keep track of their lives and careers while trying to leash their unnecessarily mobile lifestyle. (I edited this part because I remembered that earning money literally is not a challenge in this game, which is also ridiculous)

It shouldn't be too hard, please fix it. Add some rules at least to prevent them from traveling during work hours regardless of if they are invited by active household members or not. Like, if they are busy when I invite them, why do they show up on my doorstep or in community lots? These are the things that make sims 4 gameplay feel really shallow. I can not believe I am writing this message on something super trivial compared to past the sims 2 or the sims 3. Many half-baked features of the sims 4 overall feel like an insult to the players and loyal fans like myself. How ridiculous omg.

Wow... the revival of an old post. Yeah, almost all players except for those completely new to the game (as in never even watched a sibling play it when little) have complained about this among many other things like the trait and aspiration systems, the lack of retained memories and so forth. It has been pretty much half a decade... Unless EA does some amazing Sims 4 retirement party where they manage to insert all the simulation aspects of the game play they near completely left out, Sims 4 is less a simulation game and more a virtual puppet show that relies heavily on shiny new objects.

Game play? The interest dies off quickly. CAS? Awesome for creating avatars, visual representations of characters you've made up and so forth. Build mode? Excellent just for the fun of creating and building backgrounds and/or settings for your characters, beautiful worlds you can place these in and you can experiment with all sorts of tools with the hidden and world objects.

Out of all the Sims generations, this version really relies on the players to make it stay interesting. Simmers have had to go farther than usual to make it worth while by making up challenges and using the game to make videos and movies with the use of custom pose packs that will tell the stories they want but cannot experience through the game play. Modders have been been doing their best to make the game more realistic in some aspects and then slightly more crazy like how the previous Sims Generations were.

So... in a very ironic way EA certainly managed to expand some Simmers' imaginations, creativity and all the jazz... Just not through game play.
