Why do we need to be connected to the internet now?
I have been buying and playing sims since for over 20 years now. Why do we need internet connection now? This is a bad business model. 😮

You don't need an Internet connection to play sims 4. You can play it just fine without. But to share your sims creations on the gallery or download other people's creations, you need the internet for that. If you want to play offline, that's totally possible. I do it when I'm avoiding an update. Just make sure that every once in a while you let your game have access to the Internet so it can download and install updates and sims deliveries.
Needing the internet isn't exactly new. I believe sims 3 requires an internet connection for the same things I mentioned. Most if not all games nowadays require an internet connection for some of their features
@SianAF148 Hi! I agree that we shouldn't need internet connection to play. However, since we were forced to move to the EA app, it is constantly trying to reconnect. I can't speak for @CatSmith1979 but I'm just guessing this is what they were referring to. I normally have my game in online mode but I noticed that when I tried playing in offline mode it eventually returned some errors that forced me to connect and go online in order to keep playing. I never had this issue with Origin.
- @SianAF148 The ea app has changed the way it works about a month ago(?). In the glitch thread it was moved to forum since it's "working the way it was intended". I can only connect via hotspot atm. I used to be able to remain logged on and play offline. This is no longer an option. You need to connect to the internet so I have to turn on my hotspot every time.
Oh that's a feature? I get that too but I have awful Internet so I just thought it was because of that. I get told to restart the app bc of a connection issue and I get logged out a lot. Yeah that's definitely annoying
Yeah, when my ISP goes down, I cannot even start the game. I don't get past the EA crApp telling me to log in.
