Why do we need to be connected to the internet now?

A storm blew through but I had power.  "I'll just play the Sims 3 offline." EA: "Lol, no you won't."

I don't understand why you cannot play certain games without the EA app, the EA app is already a major inconvenience for me, who only ever plays the Sims 3 offline. But now not only do I need to launch the game through the app, I need to be online to launch it too? I was livid. I mean, there's honestly no words to describe how upset I was.

You should be able to start the app in offline mode if you so choose.

I wish EA cared enough about it's consumers to provide them this feature from the get-go, or at least implement it now.
