Unable to play console games after turning off console

I had purchased super dream cube to play console games on in my sims' apartment 13 Culpepper House. I was able to play console games on it. Later, to encourage a guest who was playing a console game to leave, I turned off the console through the TV's pie menu. Ever since, I have not been able to play console games, even after buying a different game console. I only have City Living installed in this save.

Addendum: I finally fixed it by putting the TV into the household inventory and taking it back out.
