Why don't mermaids use their mermaid form in Onsens?

Hello everyone,

I'm a simmer who play a lot with occult and I just bought an onsen for my family. However, the mermaid in the family doesn't turn into their mermaid form in the onsen...I don't know if it's a bug or an oversight. Does anyone else have this problem? and do you know how to fix it?

Thank you so much

    @jpkarlsen But they change into their mermaid form in Bath Tubs so there's no reason they can't in Onsens

    @jpkarlsen Yes but onsens have water, and sims enter the water. You were talking about "shallow water" that's why I said that mermaids still take their mermaid form in bathtubs...so why not in onsens?

    @Jomilej

    You keep saying Onsen but since that is a place on Mt. Komorebi I assume that you mean the hot tub there. In none of the hot tubs do mermaids change to mermaid form.

    @Jomilej @jpkarlsen Hey they are hot springs and the reason they dont go in mermaid form is simply they didn't animate it and also how would the anamation even work as they sit and chat in there. You can't even see the legs which means an animation would be effectively redundent and a waste of recourses
  • @Jomilej   I agree with @jpkarlsen and @gooochyeee that this is by design and not a bug.  The mermaids having tails in bathtubs was probably just a cutesy thing reminiscent of the mermaid in the 80s movie "Splash".  Since sims don't swim in the hot springs, it might be a little awkward to animate the change.  Would you expect the mermaid to change before they sit in the hot spring and then change again before getting out?  Whatever the case, I have a feeling this probably won't change but I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask for it.
