:|: SPEED 3 - HOW OFTEN DO YOU USE IT? :|:

I see people talk about using Speed 3 all the time while playing the game and it got me to wondering how many people use that function regularly?

I personally almost never, ever use it unless I'm testing something and I need it to be a certain time of day or a certain day of the week. But during gameplay, I don't ever deliberately use it besides speed 3 the game does by default while sims are sleeping.

I use it only when my Sim is sleeping. Other than that I always play on speed 1. For me that’s the natural speed of the game. I enjoy watching Sims doing things and interacting with each other and anything faster gives me impression I’m missing out on little details.

Never. I almost always use speed 1. I use speed 2 when my sims are sleeping or if they’re all away at work/school.

Nowadays I rarely use it anymore.
Before Cats & Dogs EP was released I used to speed time a lot when I had a single Sim and he was doing time consuming tasks. Now I just spend time setting the camera to follow their pets. I don't even need to use the speed 3 anymore. Especially cats can be very entertaining when they're running around the neighborhood etc.

Usually it is a single Sims situation. Or a single Sim I care about, like if I am hyper focused on skill grinding. I don't tend to do that in 4, though. I have at times lived there while grinding skills in 3, but my goal is to get through it so I can play regular speed more focused on details.

I’m under the impression that it’s buggy because of simulation lag. It was sort of obvious to me from the beginning that it doesn’t work as efficiently as it did in past games. So I try not to use it unless I really just want to pass the time and it doesn’t matter what gets done.

I rarely use it, and those times are typically when it goes on auto (as when the household sleeps or if they're away at work/school). I do use speed 2 occasionally, but most often only to speed up a long task for a single sim.

I actually like watching my sims complete tasks. Fishing, cooking, gardening, painting, etc.

I use it when Sims are sleeping, doing a task I don't feel like watching, or I'm waiting for a particular Sim to return home. Also when Sims are taking a long time to walk somewhere....

I should make an effort to use it less because as others have pointed out, I could be missing out on some details. :smiley:

I probably use it more than I should, but I do have a lot of single sims. If they are grinding, then I am speeding. ;)
