I found an old post here on the forum that's been locked for years, it showed how to turn Sims into NPCs. It hasn't been updated since seasons. I kept trying different combinations till finally I could see the hidden trait show up (Show sim info mod).
LOL there's a typo on the hidden trait for principal (PAL not PLE). I actually had to check because it messed with my head for minute thinking I had it wrong. So make sure you use the wrong word like they did.
Principal: traits.equip_trait Hidden_HighSchool_NPC_Principle
Teacher: traits.equip_trait Hidden_HighSchool_NPC_Teacher1
Teacher: traits.equip_trait Hidden_HighSchool_NPC_Teacher2
Cafeteria Worker: traits.equip_trait Hidden_Highschool_NPC_CafWorker
Thrift Store Owner: traits.equip_trait Hidden_HighSchool_NPC_ThriftStoreOwner
Janitor: traits.equip_trait Hidden_HighSchool_NPC_Janitor
I make all my own NPCs. I'm going to give instructions below on how to do it, just in case. If you know how then disregard, lol.
Create your sim in CAS and dress them as you see fit. Place them in a lot and equip them with the hidden trait and anything else you want to give them. Give them their skills, too. Then save the household and exit the game or return to main menu (don't save your game). Go back in to your game and place them in an empty lot. I use the free real estate cheat and place them in an expensive lot so they have some money. Evict them from that lot (don't play them, I know when doing this for the sages it makes them stop being sages). Move them into your "other households" by unchecking the heart in manage households.
Test to see if they show up in the schools. They SHOULD since they have the hidden traits that match the ones that the pre-mades had.
Thanks for the info. I'm planning to do same here!
I'll ask this thing: do we need to add a career for them? For Henford on Bagley special NPC sims, all of them (except Creature Keeper) need a respective career in order to appear as the special NPC you want them to be.
Or does it add automatically? I know that with professors in Discover University, if you put the professor trait with course and number (Brought out on Hidden Traits thread, first post on page 14), they get automatically added to the NPC professor career.
Can't wait to try it out myself!
