The issue with that is if your game needs them for a role (like barista in SM), it will snatch them. It pulls sims who do not have careers. It could be why some people are not seeing their teachers showing up for class. They're pushing serving coffee in the city (lol).
I didn't play test it, so let me know if this needs tweaking so I can update the information for myself.

Tested it out. And it turns out that no, they don't need that specific career.
I also discovered that it will give teachers and principals a new outfit. Is there a way to keep the outfit?
I'll test out whether sims in a career with this trait can appear as teachers or not.
Edit. It works! So if you don't want them to get snatched, employ them (education career is perfect here).
Edit 2. The word doc thing is an interesting project of yours. Could you share it in hidden traits thread once it's complete?
