- SimmervilleSeasoned AceBut won't also the lifestyle of the sims residing a lot have a great impact? One thing is placing the generators and what not, but if the family is actually watching TV in 6 rooms and keeping all light on 24/7 I'd assume that would contribute negatively. Perhaps not the first hour, but over time. Meaning we are probably supposed to *play* the lots, not just add objects to the basements ;)
Neither the RL world is polluted in a second, it all get worse over time and often because of our actions... - elliebretonSeasoned AceWell, how about that... I'm just a-playin a normal game with my orphanage in San Myshuno and it's getting more and more industrial there...

(They live in the Old Salt House, or whatever it's called - the place in the middle of the pic). I gave the Lot the reduce and recycle trait, it's got a few mounds of rubbish and flies appearing, but apart from that I have done nothing to try and alter anything. "elanorbreton;c-17534405" wrote:

Maybe the key point is not to "try" at all? (just joking.. at least 95% joking :) )"elanorbreton;c-17534405" wrote:

Beautiful!!! I can't wait for all of San Myshuno to look like the fly ridden wasteland it truly is :D"comicsforlife;c-17533837" wrote:
It's an overall problem with the meter it's stuck on neutral basically you can't keep the play screen either it's not just being able to keep it polluted
Sounds like it needs quite a lot of tweaking. I hope the Devs are watching and listening!
They also need to add A LOT more items from the buy catalogue that contribute to Industrial/ Green footprint, there are too few right now!- akl1226New Spectator

This right here!! I was about to pull my hair out last night trying to adjust neighboring builds to more green (didn’t work either). Just feels like they were very geared towards certain packs and not others with the labeling. - It has the tendency to go back to neutral I think. I have a save file with 70% industrial level and when I quit the game and reloaded it dropped to 10%.

Here is the script I use. Just type "current_footprint" in the cheat console and it will print 4 Eco Footprint values. All 4 of these values range from -500 to 500. It's green if it's below -400, neutral if it's between -400 and 400, and industrial if it's above 400.

Lot Footprint: This is the Eco Footprint value of the current lot. Build mode items like wallpaper and floor change this immediately, while buy mode items like generators slowly change this value as you use them.
Default Lot Footprint: This is the default Eco Footprint value of the current lot. This is the number the game uses for calculation if you've never visited the lot. This value is set by Maxis and you cannot change it.
Street Footprint: This is the Eco Footprint value of the current neighborhood. It's the same value you can see on the UI. This value will always slowly increase or decrease until it reaches the Street Footprint Convergence Point and then it will stop.
Street Footprint Convergence Point: This value is calculated from the lot footprint value of all lots in the neighborhood, using weighted average. Lots occupied by played households are given more weight than unplayed lots. For example, if a neighborhood has 1 played lot and 4 unplayed lots, the played lot will account for 75% of the neighborhood's Eco Footprint value, while the other 4 lots will only account for 25%. I believe the calculation of this value is currently bugged, which I explained in detail here.
Thanks for this! This is really handy when building in Evergreen Harbor!- Peapod79New Spectator

There are cheat codes :
eco_footprint.set_eco_footprint_state 0 : Green Eco Footprint
eco_footprint.set_eco_footprint_state 1 : Neutral Eco Footprint
eco_footprint.set_eco_footprint_state 2 : Industrial Eco Footprint
How do we use the cheats? While visiting each neighbourhood?
I want to tweak all neighbourhoods in all worlds to different states and then turn eco footprint off. Im not interested in changing the states. I just want at least one neighbourhood per world to be industrial and trashed. Im already using the landfill lot trait and have trashed those areas with debug items.
I had to use a sim that was living in the neighbourhoods I wanted to cheat the footprint. I found that just visiting didn't work. For some of the neighbourhoods that didn't have a family I could just hijack, I just moved in a "trash" sim and then evicted them after I had played them and used them to put the cheat in. - JanuaryGarnet08New SpectatorIn order to keep you neighborhood in a certain state all of the lots need to have the eco footprint you want or the meter starts to drift again immediately. You can see In map view the eco footprint of each lot, if you click the little icon that brings up the view with the colored lines around each neighborhood indicating their eco state.
