A question unrelated to Weddings in any way.

Got them on my 13th try.

Still, I don't remember it ever taking that long to successfully grab them in the past. I feel like there is something I was missing. Maybe the chance of failing is higher once you've got the moodlet from being bitten?

Are you in Granite Falls? I haven't tried to collect ants in the game yet. That is a place I haven't fully explored or the herbalism skill.

Yah, I found 3 places in the main granite falls campsite/cabin area where the fire ants spawn a LOT and had just been trying to gather them and then fishing and making social phone calls until they respawn.

I'm playing my teenage witch who is going to open a potion/herbalism retail when she grows up, so wanted to get her finished up getting all the herbalism ingredients.

I do have the fire ants now...but dang, it took me 2 days and 13 attempts to succeed. Thank god she can cast copypasto, so now that she has some of them she can make more as needed.

Spellcasters are so great. I've been playing with a Spellcasting Ghostly Detective lately. Maybe I will send her to Granite Falls to level the Herbalism skill. Seems like a fun skill for a witch to have.

idk the granite falls stuff is kinda bugged
i had trouble harvesting poisonous fireleaf with the aspiration thing even tho i found it i just couldn't harvest so in the end i had to look for it in debug

It's been working fine for me up until the fire ants. I got all the herbs, though it took a while..multiple seasons to catch them when they actually grow. I had to camp overnight with the Hermit for the last 2.

I also got all the insects now....just those fire ants were a real pain.

I honestly never noticed that could happen! My sim must have been lucky. He just completed his insect collection and the only problem I had was finding the more obscure bugs.
Glad to hear you caught them eventually and it wasn't impossible due to some new bug!
