A way to sell items from inventory to a store or mod that has that feature?

I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a way to sell items from your inventory to a shop, much like the consignment shop in Sims 3? Right now its just drag and drop, but it feels so hollow do...

I think they can. It seems like I had tried it once but now I'm second-guessing myself. I know one family I had them sale lemonade but it seems like I had a kid tend the table. Yeah, I'm going to have to double check that. I want to make sure I'm not mixing that up with TS3. It's really late so I'll test that out tomorrow. To be continued....?
