Abandoned Food In The Dorm? [Discover University]

Mine usually put the food on the coffee table. They just pull it out from nowhere, it’s ok.
I love it. I put leftovers in my sim’s mini fridge. If you pack a sack lunch, when it spoils you don’t have the stink fumes coming from the fridge. You can buy one at the little kiosk where they sell books, bikes, decorative items, etc.

Nah it’s a bug because it’s bugging me. There’s a fridge they could put it in and also a trash can when it’s spoiled. But they choose neither and I’m stuck doing it ?‍♀️

So drag it into the sink.
The roommates I’ve had have gotten around to cleaning but maybe I’ve been lucky.

Wow I had no idea I could buy a mini fridge from the kiosks I'm kind of mad at myself for getting so mad about not being able to go into buy mode now ;;

@AquaGamer1212 that's the least of the problems. Last night everything broke, Tv, stereo, all 4 showers, both sinks. AND if that wasn't enough everything was so filthy. I feel like I'm in a dorm just to fix and clean stuff.

The foods are everywhere. It is so messy. Dirty plates are everywhere.

why buy the mini fridge or anything else , use the cheat bb.enablefreebuild and it then lets you go into build mode and add anything to the dorm or campus house without having to pay a single penny for it , You can also set the dorm up to have the gnomes come round every night to repair anything broke or set it to have good internet etc

Back to the point about food , the other roomates get an 8 portion plate of food from somewhere in the bathroom every single time they are hungry , they never eat any food thats already out , which bugs the heck out of me as you then end up with plates of spoiled food everywhere

I don't mind the food. But what gets me is its usually fancy food in my game - what students bring full cooked turkeys and lobster to their dorm? I was thinking maybe pizza or sandwiches but lobster?! lol

the roommate system has a number of hidden traits divided up into archetypes, interests and quirks (you can see this whole list, along with all the other university hidden traits in the hidden traits thread here on the forums)

the important ones for this thread are:

trait_RoommateNPC_Archetype_Mealmaker

which has a sim with the trait spawn a plate of food several times of day (in the bathroom, for some reason) then find somewhere to set it. an easy thing to do for this is to buy a minifridge from the kiosk in your university and set it up somewhere, then drag the food into it

and
trait_RoommateNPC_Archetype_Breaker

which has things the sim interacts with break at a much higher frequency than they should. could be nice if you want a sim to work on handiness, but mostly is quite frustrating. there's a 'fixer' archetype, too, so you can hope to have at least one fixer for each breaker, but that's not always the case

from my experience, a sim can have up to 2 archetypes, 2 interests and 1 quirk on their own, but you can use cheats to give them as many or as few as you like, and select the specific ones you want them to have. roommates seem to always have at least 1 archetype and 1 interest, at minimum

(also, on the 'fancy food' aspect mentioned... remember, both schools have a culinary arts course. you could easily say the sims made it in class or for class and are now sharing it afterwards)

Now that you mention that, I have noticed these things! One of the roommates in my game was going around fixing things. Another kept changing her outfit (I thought I was going mad) which is kinda cool. Perhaps the outfit change is another one?

So what is considered a suitable household environment for a roommate. Sorry off topic. See my sim was pregnant when they invited a person to stay at their house and she claimed the house wasn't up to her standards after I added the toddler in her room. But the house was clean the toddler was just being fussy.
