About Home Garden Fruits and Cooking skill

Hi, I'm just curious the high quality home garden fruits affect making the higher quality meals? My 2 sims completed Freelance Botanist aspiration but I just keep the fruits and vegetables for making meals in the fridge. All ingredients have the perfect quality. If it doesn't, I wish to grow only dragon fruit and UFO plant in my back garden. I don't need to save the money for making food. My sims are not poor to worry about their finance. Also both of my sims completed cooking and gourmet cooking skills too. If the good chef makes food without home garden ingredients, would the meal still give the boost +3 with gourmet menu and the booost +2 with general cooking menu?

  • @Piperbird I don't want to see many things in my family inventory too. Sometimes, many items can make the game or loading slow down. Anyway, they are all multi sliced plants, so they need to be re planted again later on, so that's why I deleted after harvesting all.

In Sims 4, it's ok to leave some of those plants to be watered or weeded during day time. My sims just tend garden all the plants in one go twice a day, just before breakfast and after supper in the evening.

In the sims 3 and 4, I usually grow one each of all kind of plants, so there are around 15 -20 plants in my garden. It was great to do this way in the sims 3 because the quality of ingredients affect on the food quality directly but it's of no use to do this way in the sims 4. So I decided to grow certain rare plants only for keeping my sims' happiness with less work. :)
  • Oh, something to watch out for when you are cooking - recipes that take 'berries' WILL use a cowplant seed if it is in your inventory. :( Found that out the hard way. Now I just have a room with cowplant seeds all over the floor to keep them safe until I want to plant them.
  • @Piperbird Thanks for caring. I have them in my family inventory, no one can use it for cooking.:)
