Activate MOO before placing lot?

I`ve found a really nice house in the gallery but it says to activate MOO before placing but i cant get the cheats to work i think its why the stairs keep disappearing during gameplay, do i have to go onto on empty lot activate the cheat and then place the house? its the only thing i can think of
  • You need to press CTRL+Shift+C to open the cheats window then you need to type bb.moveobjects on in the cheats window and then hit ENTER. After that you can place your lot and objects that were placed with this cheat on should stay in place.

I was told you had to open the cheats window with the CTRL+Shift+C and then enter testingcheats true before entering the bb.moveobjects on command. To turn them off, enter bb.moveobjects off, and to turn off the cheats enter testingcheats false. I've also seen the cheat as testing cheats on/off

You don't need to activate testingcheats first for MOO to work.

thanks @crocobaura , I didn't know that. The stuff I saw online said use the testingcheats first.
  • You should be on a lot (any lot) before activating bb.moveobjects Not in the manage worlds mode.

I turn this on and off quite a bit. I turn it off, (same command), because having it on all the time can cause objects to overlap in "not good" ways.
I've actually download some builds from the gallery where creators had multiple of the same thing in a spot. My guess is it was unintentional. Like 5 TV's in the same spot. Heh!

This is why I recommend having it on only when doing builds or placing a downloaded build from the gallery. In fact, just to be safe, I find it's a good habit to turn it on whenever placing a room/building/lot. Keeping it on all the time may cause problems though, so it's a good habit to shut it off afterwards.
  • Everyone above pretty much covered it but also there is a weird glitch in the game. Sometimes while building near stairs if you move any of the walls or lower/raise a platform it causes the stairs to be removed even if nothing is in their way. You could always just replace them with a new staircase.
