- JaggidEdje4 years agoSeasoned AceI do it by giving them two first names. I wish there was an actual explicit middle name field though.
- GalacticGal4 years agoLegendYes. I named another version of my Erik Cantrell using his middle name. Erik James. I have since left out his middle name after posting my first story at his beginning. I will later use MCCC to change his name. I originally had his middle name in there to keep others who read my posts on Erik, to not become confused. This latest iteration was begun to allow me to put a few new hints in effect from the beginning, plus to enjoy my favorite Sims going through the My Wedding Stories, pack. I have a long way to go.
- greydonn4 years agoSeasoned AceIf the first and middle name are both short enough, you can fit them in the same category. Problem is that there's a limit on characters. :'( I'd love to give my sims both but their first names are most times pretty long.
- Simmerville4 years agoLegendI really wish the text strings for names were longer. Same for text string for photos/paintings, but that is a different story.
For names I just keep the first letter of a maiden name. Some of my sims have multiple first names, and those I keep 2 first letters. Everything but family name go in the first name field.
So, my current queen consort Queen Venezia Dorita (Mandrake) Luxe-Hamper is written as Venezia Do. M. Luxe-Hamper. The field would be way too small for any more info.
I wish we had one additional field for titles. - bshag4lv4 years agoSeasoned AceI have a couple of sims with middle names attached to their first names, AnnaLynn and RosaLee. Like Simmerville said, if they are short enough you can hook them together. :)
- Does anyone know how to use the resetsim cheat if you have a sim with a space in their firstname, like Erik James above? I had a sim named Silver Moon Thompson and he had a permanently stuck soccer ball action because resetsim wouldn’t work on him. Hyphenated names seem to be ok.
- JaggidEdje4 years agoSeasoned Ace@mightysprite, Put their names in quotation marks, with separate quotations for first name and last name.
So for a Sim of mine named Timothy Jason Winters I'd type:ResetSim "Timothy Jason" "Winters"
- @Stormkeep thanks!
- babajayne4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Simmerville , I was playing some royals last year and I used the custom job title option to give them titles. This worked for me because none of them had real jobs. Then you can see their title in the relationship panel (on mouseover, I believe) and/or in the sim info pop-up.
Use the phone to Register with the Ministry of Labor and you can put the job title e.g. Her Majesty The Queen and a description where I put the realm and any other family names. - permanentrose5374 years agoSeasoned AceI give a lot of my sims middle names in my head but usually not officially in the game :)
