Adoption help? (final update)

I know fully well I can adopt kids into my sim family. But I'm curious can I give sims UP for adoption?

I don't hate my sims, no not at all. But I have a slight problem of making my main couple Linda (wilfe/mother) and Henry (husband/father) have a lot of kids. 4 to be exact right now currently. And I left off with Linda being pregnant with no doubt at least a single child or more by her husband Henry. Idk maybe I think it's so cute and awesome to keep having them woohoo for a baby so I keep on doing it to them.

Yet I'm not exactly sure if I'd want to care for another baby from Linda. She's still a young adult, very strong still. But I have my hands already so full with their other kids Olivia (teen), Ben (teen), Audrey (twin kid) and Aiden (twin kid). I only kept the twins cause they were twins! I never had twins before Audrey and Aiden in Sims before them. So you know that was exciting! If it was only one kid I think I would have wanted it to get adopted by another sim.

I love to kill sims sometimes, so their ghosts can haunt my house. But never ever would I wanna kill a baby, toddler, kid, or teen in the game. I don't know what it's like to be haunted by a young spirit, but I wouldn't want to cause their death to have a ghost! No. That'd be too cruel of me. But I sometimes wanna kill the other random sims that I don't know cause well, I can. xD

Anyways, I want to know if I could give the baby or babies Linda is currently pregnant with to the adoption agency to go give them to a random sim family. Cause I won't want an innocent youth to die or be ignored and suffer. No. I'd want them to have a good life. Even if it's not with my main family. And I think I saw there's an option for a teen to adopt my younger kid. It was like "dependent" something when I had Olivia play with Aiden when Aiden was still a toddler. But I don't want my teen kids to adopt their siblings as their own kids.

No, I want the unknown baby or babies to be given to another sim family out there through adoption if possible. I don't even have to see them ever again or maybe the main family can get visitation idk. But I hope I've made myself clear. So please kindly inform me if what I want to do is a thing or not.

(It's easy to wait out the pregnancy if I have to wait until they are born to do it. But if they are magically triplets somehow, then I think I'll keep them XD)

Thanks for everyone who answered this. I waited it out and they had another girl, so now there's 3 female siblings in the family  And as I was responding to this discussion I felt more and more guilty about wanting to get rid of her. So I decided to keep her, it's only one baby. I can make room for her in the household. I grew fond of her as my guilt grew. So when she was born and revealed to be a single baby, I decided to keep her. :3

  • Once the babies are born you may have to age them up to toddler, but then you should be able to move them to another household. It's not exactly adoption, but you will accomplish the same thing.

But toddlers can't live in a house alone. And I don't think I can get a random npc sim to adopt them from the family :/ Ugh. I think I get what you're saying to use the "split from household" on the unborn(s) when they are toddlers. But I think lol there needs to be an adult or older sim to take them xD

OHH! What about the "take away" option? I saw that when I was failing to care for some of my younger sims when they were very yet. Is that removing the kid that isn't being cared for to a better family? (I don't know for sure cause I never let my kids get taken away in Sims 4 so far. Maybe I should try that XD If it'll let the unborn find new families XD

Game just deletes them for ever.
But if you're using MCCC mod, there is an option to adopt neglected children.
If not, yeah, moving kids to another family do exactly the same (except for a sad moodlet that appears when a child is taken away).

You can't put Sims up for adoption. However, if you turn on testing cheats and shift click a baby, there will be a blank option. If you click that, it'll tell you the baby was neglected, and they'll be "taken away" which I think is the closest you can get. This will, however, delete the baby from your world.

Aw, it'd be kinda neat if players could have the option to put their kids up for adoption or not. Maybe we can all hope that can be a future feature maybe.

Hmm, so that's what "taken away" means. OOF that's harsh. But I guess at least it's not sending sims to military if they neglect responsibilities xDD I remember that punishment in an OLD sims game XD No matter what in that old game I couldn't get my kid to wake up, she missed too much school and was forced into the sims military cause of that XD Then she finally woken up when the army bus came for her, she went on that bus and vanished XD That's all I remember from that old Sims game. That one was so old.

Thanks for the help. So is the sims military still a thing in modern Sims or was it replaced by "taken away" cause of neglect or sims failed to be responsible?

Alright. I don't know what MCCC mod is. I don't think I have any mods. Just the base Sims 4. But idk, I'm not sure now, I'm conflicted whether to keep it, make a random family for it, and just have that family "adopt" it or to delete it once it's been born. Lol, so maybe options now and I'm starting to feel bad for wanting to get rid of it after it gets born xD Lol, I'm so weird. Sims are so odd, I guess I love them xD

    Thanks for your input
  • if anything your teenage sims can help your parents out with their children. since you only have the base game and no mods, it's a simple matter of making sure your teenagers are around after school or before school to help in reducing the work load the parents deal with in the household.

Very true. And I'm not sure if I'll keep the unborn or not, cause now I feel bad for wanting to get rid of it lol. And yes, the teens can help out with the more kids. Lol. I think I need to restrain myself from having Linda get pregnant after this time. So the siblings can grow up and branch off the family too lol. :3 Thanks for commenting :3
