Hi,I don't want to wait any longer for my sim kids to age up, so I hosted a birthday and selected one of my kids as the birthday sim and got a birthday cake with candles. When I had the sim in question selected I clicked in the birthday cake to blow out candles or age up or something and it wouldn't let me. Then I selected an adult and clicked on the cake. I got the option to "age sim..." so I clicked that but it would only let me age up the guest kids, not my own.Is there a way to age up a sim early without cheating? I vowed to myself that I would not cheat this time! Lol.

The only way is with cake. You should be able to do that with the cake you made...If the child tastes the icing or makes a wish as one of the options they will age up.

Why would you vow not to cheat!? :-o I couldn't survive without my cheats! :) and sometimes... *shady look* It's the only way......

Maybe I'll cheat on a different household after :P

Not true. Sims age up on the birthday cake regardless of that option.

You can age instantly any sim except elders.

The only way is with cake. You should be able to do that with the cake you made...If the child tastes the icing or makes a wish as one of the options they will age up.

It seems to not be working. Even with a sim who has a birthday (one of my adults) anyone who clicks on the cake only has the option to celebrate, clean up, or take a piece (which is grayed out) :(

Lol I cheated in every other game I played to make them super rich, but then I always got bored because I never had to earn anything. Maybe I'll cheat on a different household after :P

Take piece grayed out?! Now that's odd.
Did you try to make a new, but now different cake, a blue one if this one was white or choco (don't forget to add candles on it)?

Oh and break the party. Try aging up without a party.

How long is "any longer?" I think in past games there was a 1 day cooldown on instant aging up with the cake, so you couldn't go from baby to elder in a single morning. If it's been more than a day or two since he aged up from a baby though, I dunno, there might be ""something" preventing him from aging, maybe a bug or some event.

Only thing I could add is your aging on in the options? Your sim will not age up if it is off. :)

Hum mine wouldn't. Geez every game does seem to be different. Well then I don't know what to tell you for mine wont age up unless I have the aging on, I just did this same thing with my 2 teenagers trying to age them up to YA. :)
