All elders have fear of death?

I don't play elders because I have a totally new save. I have seen a couple of sims in bars running like they are scared, but they weren't the elders.
I have a save that killed off 26 sims, all in one day. My ya sim in that save, started having the fear of death...understandably, but the fear didn't last that long.
After hearing the horror stories of fears, I panicked but didn't observe anything off regarding gameplaying. I feel bad for those who have lots of problems with the wants/fears feature. I think it's pretty cool, but I might be in the minority, lol.
