- alanmichael17 years agoSeasoned AceDid you check the neighborhood with the long street in Newcrest (right side of the map)? I have always 2 frogs there.
- In the southeastern part of the Willow Creek you'll find three spots with frogs. Northwest a bit south of the fishing spot, Northeast a bit east of the fishing spot, and the last one is southeast in the small park.
- MDianaSims7 years agoSeasoned AceDo you have the cats and dogs EP? Then you might want to clear a few dig spots (the dark and light brown sandy patches) and see if they respawn as logs the next day. I've noticed that both frog logs and the crystal, metal and fossil spawners can be replaced by those sandy patches at random. In any if the worlds (except maybe the destination worlds).
- Karababy527 years agoLegendI still see the frog logs and wells everywhere they were before in my game. You just have to dig those dirt piles sometimes to get the logs to appear as shared above. I don't have the Cats & Dogs EP and I still get those dirt piles though.
What is truly missing concerning frogs is the ability to 'look for frogs' in ponds now. At least in my game. Is that gone for everyone else too?
I used that a lot when trying to complete the frog collection or when I needed a stack of frogs to fish for the Wolf Eel. Takes forever to do that now when you have to run all over hunting for individual frogs instead of getting them in one place.
I get maybe Devs thought it was too easy and wanted to make it more challenging, but I just don't understand why they seem to have taken away so many things that just make the game a lot harder and less fun. At least for me... in particular splicing for gardening annoys me the most and this frog issue. *sigh*
Don't get me wrong, I still love the game, but one of the things I loved most was gardening and it's just not fun anymore. It's just frustrating and makes me sad.
I apologize for going a bit off topic.
Happy Simming anyway! <3 - Hello @Karababy52
Other simmers also aren’t able to look for frogs in ponds. This AHQ EA thread refers to the issue

Sad, but glad I'm not the only one having this issue. I hope it's just a bug that will be fixed in a patch soon then. *crossing fingers*
- I had a period in which there were no frogs - I assumed it was because it was winter, but no. I swear the game knew I needed frogs and was giving me those flipping time capsules to spite me. Later, when I no longer needed frogs, they were everywhere, no matter what the season.
Someone mentioned Newcrest - in one of the lots near the pond, there is a reliable frog-spawing site. There are also three frog-spawning sites near the fishing locations (not the pond) in Newcrest. - Stina1701A7 years agoSeasoned AceI have a question about those dig patches. Are they supposed to clear? Because they don't clear after my Sim has dug into it. In fact, he actually could dig in it again and it didn't disappear at all... :hushed:
But about frogs. In Willow Creek; the street with the newbie houses. In the community garden I can almost always find at least one frog log and around the area in that street I can find at least one more frog logs as well. - Beardedgeek727 years agoSeasoned AceOkay, so, it seems "frog nests" are much much rarer, and frogs in ponds are gone (as said above). Visiting all nature areas I can think of, I found one (1) log with a frog in it.
- Hermitgirl7 years agoSeasoned AceThe brick/concrete ones in various places in Oasis Springs that look like water pumps are still there all the time as far as I can tell. They take awhile to respawn of course once you harvest them. There is one behind Johnny Zest's house, one in that area between the large boulders behind the Roomate's house and one in that canyon area behind the Landgraab's house. I think there is one in the park of Oasis Spring also but forget where. I have a lot of luck also in that smaller hood where the BFF household lives in Willow Creek. Usually find at least two but there's like
43 areas for them to spawn in a fairly small hood.
