And It's Not Over! ::Open Mouth:: Mystery Solved Or So I Thought!

For those who are unaware, Fourth Lieutenant Drake Golden, father of triplet girls who married my three eldest Cantrell guys just out of Uni, died in my game on Friday (Sim Time). Then Joseph Cantrell, the Patriarch of the Cantrell family passed away that Monday. My Sims just buried and memorialized them. That's two funerals in ONE WEEK. It's now one game-week since Drake's passing. I barely get into my game and suddenly all eight cell phones are going off. (Yeah even the three Toddlers, who don't have cell phones, mind you.) So, since Jamison's aunt and uncle are on the third floor, sleeping, and his mother is also unavailable, his father off giving a Rock Concert, the just aged up Child answers his cell phone to learn his Grandmother, Carina Drake has just passed away! What is going on?

I haven't had this much bad luck in a game in quite some time! She wasn't even an Elder, yet. At least not when she visited this lot, most recently, which was just the day before for the second Memorial Service. I'm uncertain how I should take this. I play this game to escape. Could this be some funky culling going on? I have these households marked as favorites. I'm not truly playing rotational, but allowing these family members to just be for now. Face/palm. They are invited out, from time to time, I just don't control them a majority of the time. Nobody ever suggested that would activate culling. If that's what's going on, beware!

Please, I could use some Tea and Sympathy about now. Thanks, in advance!

    @Ellupelluellu,

    Apologies, Hoping I did not offend you. Read your post on another thread, about "aging off" awhile back, and could not resist the humour. Truly, I do apologize, if I offended you. Having a wicked sense of what is funny I seldom post (or talk) as even my kidlets tell me "Mom, you need a mouth filter!"

    ~happy simming~

    @Aunza , no , you did not offend me at all :D I was laughing so hard when I saw what you wrote :D

    LittleMsSam's mod allows you to create an urn for any ghost. You need an urn or gravestone (not one of the decorative Vampires ones). If you don't have one, you can find them in the debug objects. Its part of her Random Small Mods

    Also, if you are using MCCC you can flag sims not in the household to not be culled by the game, IIRC its under population or flags. They will still die.

    Problem is these Sims weren't living in my active household. I sent all of the YAs off to Uni. For a time the Cantrell brothers and their only sister, plus the three Golden sisters lived together in Brianna's fiancé's Castle Keep. Slowly, as they brothers married, I had them move into their own places. Erik and Kayleigh moved into their own place with his brother Joey and her sister Hayleigh. Aaron and Regina (the firstborn of the triplets) were given a nice little house as a wedding gift. The Cantrell parents still live in their place with the youngest Cantrell child who is a Teen, at this moment in time. The Goldens were Empty-Nesters but still living in their own place. So, trying to go somewhere to retrieve them is problematic, at best. I have no idea where these Sims were when they deceased. :open_mouth: As far as the debug objects go they have two headstones, neither of which looks like the one you get when you drag the urn onto the lawn. While it is possible to inscribe it, there is no way to 'mourn' the deceased.

    Well, Carina did die in my game today. Six days after her husband. The family is a wreck with the constant grieving. Louise Cantrell is the ONLY Sim left in that first generation. Her only daughter's parents-in-law are both deceased already. Sheesh what a nightmare. Somebody shake me and wake me up, please!

  • Not new with culling just annoying. I never was a fan of culling especially since a Sims 2 fan video called Delete shows where all the lost Sims go which was pretty scary. Culling stinks for rotational players. :( Culling is why MCCC is a must mod for me.

    If a family is favorited, by the new system, they aren't supposed to be culled, though. These were all played families, just not in my active lot. I use MCCC, but didn't find it necessary how to learn to set it for no culling. these households were already marked as favorite! I don't wish to have my towns explode, but it's disheartening to lose so many of my own Sims currently. "There's something rotten in Denmark" to quote from Shakespeare!
