Annoying Issue with Random Sims

Hello all!

I have an issue that's been bothering me for some time and I'd like your thoughts on it o:)

My Issue
I have CC'ed the game, not heavily, mainly CAS stuff that are MaxisMatch.

My issue is that the game creates Sims to fill the world, I assume for the various roles, like Bartenders or Maids or Sims to just walk the streets (it says it has 119/150 Sims at the Manage Worlds screen). I am alright with that, but my issue lies within the fact that these generated Sims are WEIRD! And I mean VERY weird...

- For instance, there are bald females wearing pajama-like clothes as an Everyday Outfit, while at the same time wearing high heels, Green eye-shadow and pitch black lipstick.

- There are Young Adult males that look like 80 years old, with pitch black skin tones, deep Purple ponytails and huge purple beards, pink eyes, wearing weird khaki military pants and tuxedo tops. They look like clowns.

- The main annoying thing is that the game keeps generating tons of Indian-style sims with weird names for some reason. So basically the world is full of dark-skinned, pink pigtail hair, blue-eyed, adult MALES called "Aashraya Srinivasan", "Shanayana Shrishti" or whatever.

I try deleting them from "Other Households" > "Unplayed Households" > "Not in World", but it feels like they are re-generating and getting replaced with new weird-looking Sims after loading something.

My Main Issue Right Now
Actually, I used to not really be bothered with them, but now I am playing the University expansion and all the other 8 or so dorm-roommates are just Young Adults with grey pigtails, ponytails, full beards, green Bottoms, and whatever tragedy you can think of that makes them look like clowns. There are bald females wearing Tuxedo tops, and pajama Bottoms. They are all weird and atrocious looking, going around and Making Out randomly with each other, as well as my Sims, even WITHOUT having ever spoken to them (they just initiate Romance options).

I have absolutely no issue if they are male/female, black/white, skinny/fat. The problem is that everything on them is entirely random and looks absolutely horrendous.

As a person, I am perfectionistic and I like to have the game as I want, so this issue really itches me and ruins my game :s

What I Tried so Far:
I tried creating "Not in World" sims myself in order to populate the World, but I can only make so many.
I also tried finding the Sims that are at the Dorm with me, edit their appearance, but as soon as I do, they get removed from the Dorm and some other weird looking Sim takes their place.
I tried deleting them in the hopes that I can slowly create my own "Not in World" Sims to populate the World, but it's very time consuming and it seems like the game keeps generating these weird Sims non-stop.

Is there anything I can do to stop this?
Could I somehow replace them? Is there some sort of mod helping?
What do you guys think?

Thank you so much
xx

MCCC does a lot. You can also disallow certain CAS items. The NPC controller mod does the same thing as part of MCCC. The creator just made the mod for those who don't want all that comes with MCCC but MCCC has modules that we can pick and choose or add all of them. You can use both but if you have MCCC and know how to use it you don't need NPC controller. I just just wanted to make that clear.

I chose NPCC for now, to avoid something more complicated.

To be honest, I can't even tell how NPCC works xD
I deleted a few random townies but I think they keep re-generating with new ones.

NPC Control forces the game to use existing sims instead of generating new ones. So what you can do is delete the random townies or give them makeovers, and keep them in unplayed households and the game should pick them instead of generating new sims.

You can also tweak those settings by clicking on your sim in live mode and select npcc, there you have a number of options which can make the game use unplayed households more.

I usually go to the gallery and search for popular sims and download them to my gallery. Then I go to manage worlds, create new household in CAS, load a sim from the gallery and then click confirm, when asked to place them in my world I click cancel, then they end up in unplayed households and NPCC will pick them for NPC roles.
  • I don't get this at all, isn't half the point of this to have a "world" inside the game with random people, neighbours, co-workers etc.? Would be horribly boring if I made ALL the sims in the game and knew all their traits etc. beforehand... getting to know randoms sims is fun, IMO.

But I also usually marry random townies instead of making people specifically with that purpose, so I might be "weird" in the eyes of most simmers
  • @PlanetSixam IRL I walk up to random strangers doing things and have conversations with them. Its how you meet people

No, it's not weird. I agree with this completely.
I love getting to know random townies and their personalities. I've found some real gems among them. Some of them are such wonderful personalities that I love even more than my own Sims.
  • When my sim was in University I just right clicked on the roommates and edit in CAS, if you do it that way you can change all of them without them being deleted from the dorm! I gave all of them unique looks and personalities so they all actually look like teenagers/young adults now.

I also have NPCC installed now so the game stops generating ugly townies and I just have my own townies from the gallery in there instead

I agree with this concept 100%. Sometimes I like to delete townies and let the game generate new ones to keep the DNA pool fresh. I like them to be "ugly" and unusual as well as pretty and ordinary.

    As for the clothing issue....

So I don't play with CC or mods at all. Unfortunately, I have had some bad luck with them so I am leary. In spite of this, one of my played sims for whatever reason ended up with one of these crazy outfits on. I wish I thought to snap a pic. She had on a burka, a 50s style dress, high heals, white ankle socks and some crazy jewelry and makeup. I am playing her son at uni and she kept calling him or he would get the think of family member thing and she would have a burka on. I logged into her and found that she was wearing this crazy outfit. After I stopped laughing hysterically, I changed outfits to her everyday one. I hope it happens again So I can get a screenshot and use it for my picture here. Oddly enough she was the only one that had the crazy cloths on. Everyone else seems normal. I have the NAPs disabled. Seeing a lot of college students wearing bags might be funny to see.

Ok, so, I did nothing and suddenly every Sim except my Active Sims in BRITECHESTER wear a freaking trash/litter bag on their head. EVERYONE.

    Just great...

haha The We Wear Bags NAP. I don't think College Lots should have NAPS enacted. Our sims are busy enough furthering their education....in keg stands and juice pong.
