- Oh yeah I forgot about potions.
It's annoying that they can refuse potions. I've literally have had Enraged Sims who were friends with my Spellcaster refuse Potions of Emotional Stability even though that spellcaster was trying to save his life. And it's annoying you can't really cause much chaos as you like with evil Witches throwing these gross potions out. Wish you had the option to force feed them the potions lol. - Burnziie4 years agoSeasoned AceI find the main issue with Witch spells is how going out to use Infernate on some poor soul doesn't work as efficently, back on the Sims 3 if you lit a fire under someones foot with a witch, your Witch wouldn't react to the fire. Here on the TS4 I have to fight the game to stop the fear reactions. How can my should be Brave wicked witches burn someone efficently if it then forces a fire panic dance?
I do miss some of the more zany Makin Magic and TS2AL witch spells though, casting a spell to instantly marry someone on the spot, children getting turned into babies for failing in school when wanting to age up, spawning a clone to go to work/school/clean up for you, then watching them burn up when they're done, or casting enough spells to grow a giant beanstalk was fun! ...Or just resurrecting your own zombie...
I feel like witches lack in destruction potential beyond enemies, or even just more pranky use to show off to Sims with compared to the earlier expansions. - Lazzial4 years agoSeasoned AceThe only thing that really annoys me about spellcasters is if you have a 5 times over virtuoso with all the perks, you still get bad potions even though one of the perks say "Practical Spells and Potions always succeed when Sim is in a Normal Spellcaster Charge range". They definitely don't. Especially when I give a potion to another sim. Seems like a third of them are always bad.
- luciusstorm4 years agoSeasoned AceI suppose it depends on what you want to use them for. Yeah, I generally don't use a lot of the spells, unless I have a "storyline" driven need for them. Yeah, I'd love for some "performance" type spells... fireworks or sparkly things or even conjuring up rabbits to raise the Fun need. Still, I've found the ability to fix broken items, clean things up and conjure up food instantly to be very useful for college witches living in the dorms. Like most expansions, I think magic is what you make of it and, maybe more than most, what kind of story you want to tell.
- Potion of Plentiful Needs is probably the most powerful spell all things considered. It's bizarre that you learn it so early and the ingredient is so easy.
- HaveYouSeenSean4 years agoRising AceThe entire pack was rather lacklustre. The only exception was the build/buy mode. That was good.
So many good spells not made due to happiness simulator. "Sorak4;c-18161834" wrote:

Around here, the Dark Lord would incinerate Harry and then extinguish him. What's the fun in that?- pepperjax12304 years agoSeasoned AceI actually like the spellcasters better then any of the other occults we have. I mean I haven't really truly explored Werewolves yet but I love my sim to do magic.
- NightwalkerArk4 years agoNew AceI wouldn't call them "useless", and I love using them, but I'll admit they're lacking that little extra grand archmage power. Controlling the weather, slowing down time, sending Sims through portals that gets rid of them for a few hours or so and total mastery of life and death, making the very Grim Reaper your summon and your underling. The possibilities...!
They do feel a bit watered down. Take the Zap spell. Indoors, it would work as usual. Outdoors, it would be lightning that strikes your target.
Alas, my spellcaster Sim have to settle with making Vampires uncomfortable when they come knocking.
