I agree with that. Similarly, I typically use my Dine Out venues as dining locations for my sims. I recently created a restaurant mogul who I'd like to be a restaurant owner but I don't want to lose the dining venues as playable spaces for my rotation. I think at some point, I will switch that restaurant owner to working from home. I guess I'll simulate some aspects of working through practicing writing on the computer and by having him make phone calls that I will say are business calls. I'll pay him myself but he will have to actually do some work at home.

I agree that having more flexible options like we saw in CL is the way to go.
