- djsboonieNew Scout@GalacticGal my sims have done that occasionally but a simple shift-click on the sim & choosing "reset object" fixes it. And yeah, it is annoying; as is the times when you cancel an action, it's cancelled & other actions take place but the icon with the "x" through it never goes away. Have to do the shift-click, reset then too.
- Does the room have a ceiling? I've noticed sims act weird if ceilings are missing.
- ck213Seasoned ScoutI have experience this with two lots.
The first did not like that I was using that glass dance floor as a skylight.
It stopped when I removed the skylights.
The second is odd because I am using a glass roof in the greenhouse area, but sims are not using umbrellas in that area.
They just keep them up when they are coming in from the rain. Like they aren't getting the signal to put the umbrellas away. - cornflake89Rising NewcomerThis has happened to me before. Easiest solution I found is to buy an umbrella stand and have them put the umbrella away.
- NateWhiplashSeasoned VanguardNo, but I wish they were---I would find that hilarious
- GalacticGalSeasoned Ace@cornflake88 I do have an umbrella stand! Guess I'm going to have to see who's going in and out to make them put it away. I've just been hitting debug. The really dumb thing is, they keep going through the guest bathroom and out the door that leads to the backyard and straight into the master suite from there. There is a hallway to the master suite. Just had a wild thought. I could remove that outside door and force them to use the hallway instead. This would prevent them from using an umbrella just to check on the babies. Yes, there's triplets in the house!
- SweetieWright_84New SpectatorI have the opposite in my game. I haven't seen a single sim use an umbrella the whole time I've been playing this save. Granted, I've only been playing since Wednesday or Thursday but it's rained quite a bit and still no umbrellas.
Edit: Nevermind, I had a duh moment. I forgot to select their preferred umbrellas. Didn't sims used to just use the default umbrellas automatically though? Either way it's working and I had moment of stupidity. ?♀️ - SweetieWright_84New Spectator

I do believe they did used to use the default umbrella. I'm just tired of the rain in HoB. It's been almost constant. And the thunderstorms that go with it. Oi! I know I could switch things off, but what is the point of having seasons, if I'm just going to make it stop?
I know exactly what you mean. Apart from sims being scare all the time, I don't really mind it too much. I cheated and gave all my sims the Storm Chaser reward trait because I got tired of them constantly being scare. - simsimsereNew TravelerI've had sims walk in with umbrellas but I think they're just slow putting them away.
- LazzialNew SpectatorI've seen it. It's a bug. Also, at times the umbrella will dissappear after entering a building, yet their arm will still be stuck in the 'holding an umbrella' position. I've seen sims do this with drinking glasses as well.
