The mother in the current family I'm playing was a twin and she has one of the family aspirations which requires her to be friends with 3 of her kids. I'd initially only planned on letting her have 2 kids but figured I'd be nice and let her have one more since I built them a house with an extra bedroom... naturally that "one more won't hurt" thing led to her having twins :( (I feel bad for her oldest, he's the only boy!).So now I'm wondering if I should have been more cautious about letting her have another baby knowing she'd been a twin herself. Do multiples run in families on the sims, or was it just a coincidence?I think I must be one of those people who always gets multiples when they don't want them! At least they're cute :)

I find the chance of twins increased genetically - my sim Phillip was a twin, and he fathered twins twice. Of his four children, another went on to have twins herself.

I haven't noticed multiples having more of a chance of having multiples themselves. I had one heiress who was a twin and three or four generations after still hadn't produced any multiples. And in my current household both dad and mom are twins and they just had a single daughter (where there would have been double the chance for twins out of them). I think it's pretty random in the game but it might just have been a round of good luck for me in those saves.

Did your mom ever watching the kid's network while pregnant? That's supposed to increase the chance of multiples.

@3KNPen she didn't watch any kid's tv or even listen to kid's music which is why i was wondering if it could be genetic. Although, if it were it sounds like you should have a high chance of multiples in your current household

My sim had one daughter and the had triplets!! (1girl & 2boys!) The single daughter (Not the triplet) had a daughter who then went on to have twins!! (A boy and a girl!) I was thinking maybe my family had a twin gene?? And also the mother of the single daughter at the beginning was adopted by her two mothers, one of them being a twin! Technically they're not blood related but maybe the twin gene started there?? :) <3

I think once a set of twins have been born into a family for the first time, the chance increases for all living relatives, unless they are genetically far removed.
