- Yes, my sims wouldn't get far in life if I just let them do as they wanted. "Years" later they'd still have only 1 skill point here and there and remain at the bottom of the career, and eventually they'd have the power cut off because the wouldn't be able to pay the bills at some point.
- I play and like being god to my sims.
- SimmervilleSeasoned AceI do decide all their bigger events, but they normally live on free will on daily basis. It's a compromise, I guess :)
- wildirishbansheeRising NoviceI do have full autonomy, but my sims rarely get to use it. Especially teen-Adult! Those are the skill your butt off years lol. Usually, the only time my sims have autonomy is when I just don't know what to do with them - toddlers with maxed out skills and elders with whims I can't fulfill just then. Oh yes, my sims get their whims fulfilled a LOT!
- annaliese39Seasoned NewcomerI'm definitely a control freak. I am often the storyteller in my sims game with a very set plan for my characters and plot. The story may change and progress further over time, but it is all within my own control and mind. I am thinking of giving my sims a little autonomy of their own at some point though to help their story along just to see how I like it. I think it might help too when I'm not set on where I want things to go next.
- amber_ilumireSeasoned HotshotAbsolute control freak over here! It’s part of the experience for me!
- nothing happens in my game without my approval
Nothing exists without my approval.
Al though I do wish I could make my characters behave how I want automatically, so it’s not really random, but expected.
It all connects back to favorites
Like if my character was hungry he would automatically go grab one of his favorite snacks or make his favorite meal, Not some random dish.
Or go do one of his favorite hobbies, and not something random.
If letting go of the reigns was an option that’s the only reason I would. - For the most part, probably a good 75-80%
- SmellincoffeeNew AdventurerI usually have one sim (in a given lot) who I control absolutely, a few others who I just police a bit here and there, and others I ignore. T
- I'm 50/50. But sometimes assuming direct control is the only way to get the whole household ready in the morning.
