- Yes and no. Yes if they take the time and build out the new game. Add enough that I don't have to buy a expansion pack unless I really want it. I know that each game engine has it limits. Sims 4 is still little lackluster compared to other games in the series. No I think there is a few things they could add to make Sims 4 fit the mold of the Sims franchise better.

Doesn't mean I want it NOW.
I'd rather have them take the time they need to deliver a true sequel instead of some half baked thrown together Sims game. - Ironically, I think if you'd asked me this question a few years ago I would have been like "Yeah. It's time. TS4 is unsalvageable." But look at me, being all wrong about things. I think they've made a lot of improvements to the base game, it's really becoming something fun, and while I wouldn't mind hearing they're moving focus to a new engine and new game (as, hey! maybe it'll be good!) I am no longer anxious to move on. TS4 is fun enough, even if it could still use a LOT of improvement. I feel increasingly like they're actually listening and trying, and have been pretty pleased with the last few packs (Island Living feeling a little shallow notwithstanding). At this point my problems with the sims are less and less complaints about how they executed what is included (which my early complaints often were), and increasingly just hoping for them to include more - and that's not a problem that can be solved by starting over.
It would be nice for them to revisit some of the things they've already done with the experience they've clearly gained. It's sad that the base game gets big overhauls and updates, but DLC does not. Now that they know more, some of the earlier packs could use a revisit. I won't hold my breath, though. - I'd be interested of looking into maybe buying a possible Sims 5 if the basegame has all the things that TS4 basegame should've had, and that includes toddlers from the start, spiral stairs, non-object babies and basic weather changes. Also a memory system, favorites and astrological signs.

Definitely. I don't feel the base game of TS4 innovated enough to last this long. The packs don't do much to supplement the core game, either.
The Sims 5 will come around and The Sims 4 won't be remembered the same way TS1, TS2, and TS3 are. Assuming it's not an even bigger trainwreck than 4 was.- I don't want a ts5 just to wait years to get what I have now in ts4 and may never get. I say keep improving and adding to the game we currently have.

Fair enough, however the problem with The Sims 4 is not the content we are missing (like University etc), but rather the foundation which is broken and the limiting factor.
We aren't going to get better personalities, better emotions, a color wheel, Open worlds etc. in The Sims 4.
In order for that to even be a possibility we need a whole new (base) game.
The Sims 4 is just what it is and the core of the game will stay the same. I don't expect any big overhaul to the game at all, just more fluff being added on top of what we already have, A new layer of paint over the same shell.
But in the end; I'd rather have them take the time they need in order to create a true Sims game, a Sims game worthy of carrying the 'The Sims' title, instead of another rushed out bare bones game with a broken foundation we have to deal with for years. - Sims Guru Duke said in his new interview that he'd be working on the Sims 4 for the next 5 years or there abouts - so Sims 5 is not something we need to wonder about for a good long time anyway and knowing Maxis/EA we won't hear anything about it for a good long time anyway. I prefer to keep my focus on this game and enjoy it, the way it is, instead of pining for what it isn't or worse pining for a game we know nothing about that won't be out for over 5 years. I'd much rather enjoy the game we have now and what ever new stuff it gets. To me that is a lot better than just staring at a forum all day and formulating in our heads in 5 years we will have the perfect game. I doubt that will ever happen as I have never found the perfect game and I have been playing games since the late 70s.
Sims has been a real good game - but was never perfect for everybody and no game I feel could ever be perfect for everybody.
Just read over at pcgamer that ROM has a University by the way. That makes me even more excited for this pack. I was hoping it would. "Writin_Reg;c-17220093" wrote:

That sounds very interesting! Do you have a link or more info?- Yes, 100 times yes. Sims 4 just lacks so much gameplay, like most packs were a huge disappointment to me and that lack of content in previous packs can't really be fixed no more. So I really hope sims 5 will come out soon enough and be as good as sims 2 or 3.
