Arts center question

Why do we have to place a kids activity table in the arts center? I finally have a kid show up and they sit at the bar. I need the room to place easels because the sims fill them up fast, or make the sims sell their paintings when they finish them. Kids activity tables are a waste of space.
  • I used to get aggravated at sims that would drop by to visit my artist sim and leave their paintings on her easel. I still do up to a point, I get a little annoyed when they don't finish them. If they finish it and leave it I can sell it and it's like they paid her to use her easel. Some of them have been quite generous.?

  • As you can see the kids show up and totally ignore the activity table, game table, and game thingie, and the easels fill up very fast. I have 8 easels and 6 are full.

  • I made a bug report because I think it's a bug.

  • It's a good thing they paint so fast. I used to have a sim go to the arts academy and buy the paintings from the easels and sell them afterwards on the pavement outside. Very quick and easy money. You could fill the lot with easels but if you don't sell them they will fill up eventually. Don't add kids play stuff at the academy, just the required activity tables and you could also add the children's violin.
  • The game kept wanting me to buy the paintings so I had to click on them a few times to get the scrap option. I don't want to have to buy and sell them, I don't think I'll make very much because they're not cheap to buy.

I might just keep the one activity table and replace their lama game table with a game table from Batuu. Then my sim could make some money and put another piano in there. Then the room shouldn't be so empty of sims.

The thing is my sim can't do anything there because I have to keep stopping to empty the easels. I have workout equipment and chess tables there too and the sims use them. But the kids come to chat and do nothing else.
  • I like that it's there. It makes the place seem more accessible, and it's also useful for one of the child aspirations. If you don't find it charming, hide it in a basement.

Well, if you let the easels to fill up with paintings, sims will need to find something else to entertain themselves with. Why does it bother you that the easels fill up, your sim only needs one. You added many activities that don't normally go with the arts center, maybe you could change the lot trait to community space, sims won't be tempted to paint as much and you won't need to add that many easels either.
  • I didn't know sims would look for something else to do. I made this so I could use it to build my sim's skills and not have to spend my sim's money buying the stuff and placing it on their lot. I was thinking the sims would start throwing up their hands and complain if I didn't keep the easels empty. Thank you for letting me know that I can let the easels fill up.
