As a male Sim can you get your kid to move in with you?

Can you have just a child move in with you? I had a kid with another Sim and don't want the mom to move in but I do want the kid. Also the mother has her own house she is not a townie.

  • I think the above is the only way to do it. You never get the option to ask to move in during gameplay.
  • Echoing what everyone else said; my slacker baby daddy had a baby with Eliza Pancakes and she and Bob aged up to Elder -- I didn't want the kid to disappear if they died before he got to Teen so I moved him in with his dad's sister and her family.

I do the same thing. Makes for some great stories!

  • So doing it in household is the only way? I have a kid who's friends with my sim's kid, who appears to have no family or home :-( And I kind of want her to move in with my sims so it's less sad, lol, but I don't think there's an option to ask to move in for a kid...? Which is kind of a bummer, tbh. And it would be cool to be able to offer to adopt homeless kids and teenagers in game...
  • You could ask the mother to move in and then when the move in menu appears just move in the child and leave the mother where she is. (Out of world or where ever.) This also works with teens etc. Just another in-game way to move kids and teens around without having to use manage households.
  • I just went through this and found a new way. Make sure you have testingcheats true on then invite the sim(s) you want to add to the household over. When the sims at there hit your shift key and click on them. There should be a spot that says add to family. This works for all ages

    Great idea!
