Asian townies
This is probably just me nitpicking, but has anyone else noticed that, since CL, townies with japanese sounding names tend to be always blonde? I noticed that their other facial features usually match...

It's a word. In the Philippines, it means "girlfriend." I haven't seen it as a proper name, but I can see where it might be used that way.
Thanks for the information :) The interesting thing is that the two Nobyas in my game are both male :D Which makes me think the people, who came up with the name didn't know, what it means. Or at least they didn't know what it means in the Philippines.
It just made me think of something like the word "nobody". Like when someone just doesn't want to identify themselves and, when asked for a name mumbles "nobya".
"nobya" means fianceé in Tagbanwa. Nobuya is an actual Japanese name that can also be transliterated as Nobya. (Like how -kazu often is transliterated as -kaz)
