Attention: To All Those Suffering From the Red/White Sims Syndrome
I, too, discovered my game going bonkers, after the last patch. First problem was constant game-crashing. Second problem was the skin on my Sims that would randomly appear as red/white and question marks all over.

(I thought I had a mod that wasn't properly updated, but pulling the entire Mods folder from the game failed to fix it.) After much discussion, and clicking on the 'Me Too' button over at the thread begun at the Support Site, I followed the advice of several players who suggested a game-refresh/uninstall/reinstall. I wasn't able to pull my Sims4 folder as I'd done in the past. So, I looked up how to uninstall Sims4. I followed the instructions, made a copy of my game folder and then went into Origin to click on uninstall. Once that was done, I selected install with all of my game packs checked. It took a little time but that's why I did it before dinnertime.
I powered up my game just this morning after Origin installed it's latest version, and the problem has resolved. Not one of my Sims had the red/white skin and believe me, many of my saved households were peppered with them, one or two Sims in the infected households, but several saved households were involved. Also, I was able to download lots into my game save without the game crashing.
So, if you find yourselves all but pulling your hair out with this problem. Make a copy of your Sims 4 game folder, paste it to your desktop, then go into Origin and uninstall. Then reinstall and see if that clears it up for you, too.
