My theory is that Bella went back in time & accidentally erased her younger self, then realizing that she just created a paradox, she looked up a mad Scientist named Doc Brown.
He made her a child youth potion & told her to drink it so she would be a child again, to relive her childhood all over again. So that the paradox would stop & the timeline would be restored.
