Joaquin Le Chien shows up on my lot randomly. He mostly just plays with the toddler (his daughter, Ivy), then goes on the computer to play video games. Ivy's mom, Lucy, has a garden that she works on at home, so it's actually really nice to have an adult around to socialize with the kid.
Lucy is married to another woman, who also has a child with a man not in the household. (It's actually part of a Stardew Valley crossover*). However, this other man doesn't usually show up on the lot. Not sure how this is calculated. I actually really like this feature in this instance, but I could see it being a problem if they had split up or something.
*Lucy is married to Leah. Leah has a kid with Sam, the guitarist. Lucy's kid with Joaquin is named Ivy, and Leah's kid with Sam is named Harper.
