Bugs in my game

It keeps asking me if this sim , or that sim wants to like something. Sims that aren't even in the current household I'm playing. Also my sim is stuck on skill 3 of logic and My games seems really buggy lately. It makes it unenjoyable. There's something else too, but I can't remember it because I spent so much time looking for a "bugs" area on the forum, but alas... Is anyone else having this problem? Also lots that I make for going to like a place to hang out that have the "other" tag can not be used on a date. Why is that? Oh I remember now! My sims stuff breaks all the time. One after another after another! Is anyone else having these problems? Also when I try to plead for a sim lately they die anyway. Thanks. Have a nice day. :/

I think many Simmers are experiencing this, I am too. I believe Devs are aware of it though, I vaguely remember seeing a tweet by one of them saying this shouldn't be happening and that they will look into it. (I may be wrong, so if anyone has that tweet that would be helpful).

I haven't experienced the other bugs personally. My first suggestion would be to see if any of your mods (if you use them) could be causing them. If not, and if you can't find posts about these bugs on Answers HQ, you could create a bug report there.

    Edit:
Here is a link to a bug report concerning the likes/dislikes bug you mentioned, you can click "me too" on the first post and reply with your own experience if you want to:
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Getting-likes-dislikes-pop-ups-from-sims-not-in-household/td-p/10376867

(I'm assuming the Sims that the messages pop up for are Sims you have played, just not the ones you are playing currently?)

    Edit (again, sorry!):
By "other" tag do you mean "generic"? If so, there is an open report here about not being able to have events on generic lots:
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Player-Created-Generic-Lots-Not-Recognized-For-Events/td-p/6416064

Apparently it was fixed in a patch ages ago, but some players seem to be having issues with it still. Again, if this is your issue, click on "me too" and add your experience, this will let the Devs know it's still a problem that needs to be looked at.
(There are a couple of work around suggestions from players in page two if that helps at all).

Sorry you are experiencing problems, bugs are always a pain!
  • I don't believe this is a bug. Our Sims now have likes and dislikes, that I believe was instituted with the Design Career pack. EA patched the system in for everyone. I just select yes or no when these things pop up. It's a way to help develop the Sims' personality a bit more. I just hope it does more than in Sims3. I would select a favorite color for my Sim and decorate their bedroom based on the color and it didn't do anything at all. No mood boost, no nothing. Oh, well. It's rather funny in Sims4 to see how a Sim reacts to the furniture style they hate! So it works on some level.
  • I don't believe it's by design, according to Sim Guru Jill it is not meant to be happening.

(I personally don't mind it, but I only have a couple of Sims, so the occasional pop-up to add a like/dislike to my Sim is no issue, but I can imagine it becoming a problem for those who have many households on the go!)
  • I feel the same way. i have a lot of sims and I am tired of them asking me to like/not like somethig. It is so annoying. :(

Yes - I don't play rotation, but sometimes, when I want to build a lot before moving the Sim in, I'll use a save in which I already have a household. That's when I had the likes/dislikes popping up for the other Sim. The game also notified me that my cow and llama at another household were dissatisfied with life and leaving for better pastures. Obviously, my Sims can't be trusted to take care of the poor things if I'm not supervising them.

Like you, I only have two or three households in a save, so it's not too annoying (I'm sure the cow and llama found better places). I don't usually go back to a household once I've abandoned it. It would be a problem if I were playing rotationally, and had many households, so I sympathise. (It actually sounds a bit like story progression happening.)

  • What was weird for me was I saw a chicken wandering around town near the pub. It was from a household I currently wasn't playing. Starving and unhappy. I fed it treats anyways, but going back to to play the other household, the chicken was gone, but still taking up a slot in the coop. After about a week in-game, I ended up having to delete and rebuild the coop to clear that slot. (Not to mention the chicken was happy and full last time I was playing that household before that).
